Description

Local Council Araba is situated in the Lower Galilee, between Sahnin and Dir Hanna, SE of Karmiel. Local Council since 1965, pop: 16,000, most of them Muslims. Mr. Mustafa Lahuani, LC General Manage sent me a hand written and painted construction sheet of the emblem as follows:

  • Onion - black roots, brown onion, green leaves
  • Melon - yellow with brown stripes
  • Watermelon - red with green peel and black seeds
But I suspect in real flags only the outline is used. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), 'Publications Gazette' section (Yalkut ha'Pirsumim), YP 1487, 21 November 1968. Source: letter from Mr. Mustafa Lahuani, Local Council General Manager, 2 October 2001.
